From Antique clocks to antique dining tables, John Young’s of Keswick has been dealing for generations

More than 150 years ago John Young’s ancestor’s (Hutchinson) were making and selling long case clocks and pocket watches in the same Keswick shop that they occupy today. Since then four generations of Young’s have sold antique furniture, clocks, china and glassware.

Antique oak and country furniture has great charm and character. We usually have farmhouse tables, chairs, dressers, court cupboards, settles and other interesting furniture in oak and fruitwood.

This is also true of the antique mahogany furniture. We have extending and pedestal dining tables, chairs, sideboards, cabinets, desks and bookcases, many fine pieces of furniture made by British Craftsmen of their era, to grace any home.

Longcase clocks (or Grandfather Clocks) are often sought after for investment purposes, but the greatest pleasure is surely in listening to the tick and the chime of the hour. We stock antique Longcase Grandfather Clocks with brass or painted dials and eight day or thirty hour movements. In addition to grandfather clocks, you will find a selection of wall clocks, mantle clocks and barometers.
